Pengo 9,790 video review v2: 9,390 alive, ACT 3 death
EXPLORATORY PILOT, editorial revision 2. ACT 1 and ACT 2 complete; ACT 3: death at physical frame 7,299. The two score endpoints are 9,390 alive and 9,790 at tape end. The latter is reached during the pending death sequence. A counter value of 3 at tape end does not establish three healthy lives.
The W1–W6 review is closed by this new export. All original MP4 files and their original metadata remain unchanged; no new emulator run, trajectory search, model call or game-mechanics experiment is performed.
Corrections
- W1, option b: the fixed header reads ACT 3: death at frame 7,299 from the first rendered frame. The tape ends at 7,350. There is no neutral extension in this video; the later life decrement at 7,601 is separate diagnostic evidence.
- W2: 9,390 alive / 9,790 at tape end remains visible throughout, distinct from the current observed score. The dense observation first reaches 9,790 at 7,323; the every-two-frame video first renders it at 7,324. Death is observed at 7,299 and first rendered at 7,300: the rendered events are 24 physical frames apart.
- W3: 13,211 TOTAL fresh-prefix evaluations is fixed from the beginning. It describes the entire recorded campaign, not a playback-time progressive count.
- W4: EXPLORATORY PILOT replaces the visible BEST title. Scientifically, 9,790 remains the highest retained verified planner-trajectory endpoint in this local campaign, including its death. It is not a full-game or world record, nor the pre-death maximum.
- W5: E009 v1 and v1.1 are superseded and not publishable, with exact-hash classification and sidecars. E012 editorial v1 is superseded too; its former public upload is unlisted and points to this revision. Historical files remain preserved.
- W6: the observed hash scope is explicitly shown on screen and defined below.

What the observed-trace hash covers
SHA-256 covers the 8-byte file header PENGO01 plus newline and physical observations 1 through 7,350. Each 4,121-byte record consists of:
| Region | Bytes |
|---|---|
| Unsigned little-endian physical frame index | 4 |
| Program-space RAM 0x8000–0x8fff, inclusive | 4,096 |
| spriteram2 coordinate share | 16 |
| Ordered driver flags | 5 |
The flag order is m_charbank, m_colortablebank, m_flipscreen, m_palettebank, m_spritebank. CPU registers, other device internals, scheduler, timers, pixels and the input tape are excluded from this hash. Sampled pixels/exposed devices and inputs have separate comparison evidence and hashes. Complete-machine identity remains UNKNOWN.
The video uses 3,675 frames at 30.303030303 fps, giving 121.275 seconds and the original 60.606060606-Hz physical cadence. The original rendered pixels are enlarged by 3 with nearest-neighbour sampling. The editorial source capture was accelerated; the two native-speed reset confirmations are separate evidence.
Verification and status
All 7,350 observations, all-frame text bounds, the fixed evaluation total, complete MP4 decoding and representative preview frames pass. All three original video hashes and all 113 files in source contract v2 remain unchanged. The input tape and declared observation hash match the retained trajectory.
- Review closure W1–W6
- Publication eligibility and superseded exact hashes
- New editorial metadata and complete hash scope
- Frame and decode validation
- Visual inspection receipt
- New video publication receipt
- Old public upload supersession receipt
- Original ACT 3 diagnosis and reproduction evidence
- Current project and E004 objective reduction diagnosis
E003 remains incomplete; E004 findings and the search stop remain unchanged. Diamond mechanics/values remain separate and unverified. 304,000 remains a numeric target with unverified comparable-leaderboard provenance. No raw RAM, extracted templates, ROMs, state dumps or secrets are published.
